2016-2017 School Year Enrollment Information
Parents can obtain enrollment packets from their child's home school. To find your home school, please visit the School Site Locator application, or call 909-580-6580. Enrollment packets are available at school offices, or online through the District website. Click on the Student Enrollment Information button for more information and to access the forms.
Completed enrollment packets will accepted at your student's home school. Please contact the school office for enrollment hours.
Please also note that beginning January 1, 2016, a new state law took effect requiring all students enrolling in public schools to have current vaccinations. Per SB 277, families with religious or other personal objections to required vaccinations will no longer be given exemptions when entering California schools or daycare. Most families will not be affected by the new law because their children have received all required vaccinations.
Personal beliefs exemptions on file for a child already attending schoolor daycare will remain valid until the child reaches the next immunization checkpoint at kindergarten (including transitional kindergarten) or 7th grade.
For more information about SB 277, please see the Frequently Asked Questions available at: http://www.shotsforschool.org/laws/sb277faq/

CJUSD Home Choice Program (K - 8)
CJUSD's Home Choice provides an option for parents to educate their K-8 students at home. The program is built around an independent study model and acts as a support system to parents. It offers complete curriculum, testing, academic support, certificated teacher support and legal accountability. The following are things interested parents should know before making the choice:
Transportation is not provided
Parents and students meet with the Home Choice teacher weekly to receive curriculum based assignments, instructional support, and grades, as well as borrow instructional materials and submit completed assignments
The parent is the primary instructor a home, with advisement of the Home Choice teacher
CA State Standards must be met
Students must participate in district and state testing

CJUSD's Focus on Literacy
CJUSD leadership answered some critical questions this year in an effort to define and bring purpose to CJUSD's day-to-day operations. What do we do? How will we succeed? What is important? See our six critical questions for the answers.
The answer to the question "What is important?" points to how critical literacy is to success and gives us our theme of "Today's Readers - Tomorrow's Leaders." For more tools and information about this critical charge, also see San Bernardino County's web site focusing on its Vision2Read campaign website.
